We all know the big cities: Kansas city, St. Louis, Springfield. Today I’m putting together all the Fall Festivals that are “in between” these big spots.
Here are some Festivals in Small towns that you should visit.

Lee’s Summit Oktoberfest

When and Where: September 26th - 27th, Downtown Lee's Summit, Douglas Street
Multi-day Oktoberfest: Celebrate German Heritage with live entertainment, local beer, family-friendly fun including German food, dancing, vendor booths, carnival & children’s activities. (Oktoberfest 2025)
Saint Charles Oktoberfest

When and Where: FREE ENTRY Sept. 26, 27, 28 Frontier Park
FRIDAY 4p-11p SATURDAY 10a-11p SUNDAY 10a-5p
Right on the MISSOURI RIVER! A Very Unique Experience and a great crowd in old town St. Charles. Cobblestone roads and all! Brats, brews, & Bavaria at Frontier Park, several days of German style food, beer, music. (Saint Charles Oktoberfest)

Farm Heritage Festival

Cost: $15 for adults, $12 for kids
200 acres of rolling hills, demonstrations of farm life, and beautifully restored historic sites - there's lots to look forward to at the 3rd annual Hermann Farm Heritage Festival!
See demonstrations of traditional crafts unique to the lifestyle of homesteaders in the 1800s; enjoy live music being played at various locations on the Farm; or enjoy the Deutsch Country Market housed within our grand stone barn featuring several vendors offering a vast collection of distinctive wares and furniture. Children are encouraged to participate in a scavenger hunt as well as games that were popular in the mid-1800s

They are all over the place in Herman so there are lots to eat, drink and see.
Black Walnut Festival

When & Where: Sept 25–27 | Stockton City Park, Stockton, MO
Annual celebration of Missouri’s official state tree nut featuring parades, carnival rides, black walnut exhibits, community quilt/art display, youth contests, tours of Hammons Black Walnuts, and unique vendors. Activities are free, with fundraising supporting local youth. Great for families and heritage lovers.

Pioneer Days

When & Where: Sept 27 | Mountain View, MO
Meet downtown for a day full of history, crafts, music, and food! The 35th Annual Pioneer Day Festival will feature musicians such as Wyatt Dodge, The 3 C's country and gospel, and Travis Mourick. The Community Betterment will have its Ham and Bean supper on Friday night from 4 to 7 pm, and Saturday morning, the Chamber will start the day off with the Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 am.

Fair Grove Heritage Reunion

When & Where: Sept 28–29 | Fair Grove, MO
Summary: Ozarks crafts fair with live demonstrations, heritage parade, blacksmiths, food trucks, and music. Family-friendly, annual highlight. The Coolest part is the Old Fashioned Saw Mill that is fully Restored.
Republic Pumpkin Daze Fall Festival

When & Where: Oct 3–4 | Downtown Republic, MO
Compete to show giant pumpkins, gourds, and other amazing garden entries. Celebrate autumn harvest with crafts, food, and live entertainment.

Summary: Ozark Empire Fairgrounds hosts agricultural vendors, equipment displays, livestock, crafts, and food.

Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park Harvest Fest

When & Where: Weekends in October | Springfield, MO 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays, 12-6 p.m.
Ongoing fall activities with wagon rides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, and more festive farm fun for families.
